Tanabe's novel tells the true story of Anita Florence Hemmings, who was the first African-American woman to graduate from Vassar College, and who later worked at the Boston Public Library. Now, Zendaya is adding to the girl power by collaborating with Witherspoon as a co-producer on an awesome new film-and she'll star in it, too.

Of the Disney Channel series K.C. Undercover's 78 episodes, Zendaya, the show's star, is credited as a producer on 42.

"Since childhood, Anita Hemmings has longed to attend the country's most exclusive school for women, Vassar College". There will also be a love story involved in the film, as Hemmings found romance with a Harvard student. A WHITE LIE is labeled as a "psychological thriller".

She'll have a pretty epic mentor in Witherspoon, though, considering she produced and acted in BLL.

Zendaya, who launched her acting career in 2010 on Disney's "Shake It Up", recently co-starred in "Spider-Man: Homecoming" and will next appear in "The Greatest Showman", which is scheduled to hit theaters in December. She will also reprise in the Spider-Man sequel opposite Tom Holland. Monica Beletsky is penning the script.
