The premier said the federal government would provide 50 per cent of the funds for the plan while the other half would be financed by the Balochistan government.

The premier said that during the meeting on development projects, Rs20 billion project being undertaken by the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on mixing of LPG in the gas supply system was reviewed.

The prime minister announced a 10-year package for development of all areas of Balochistan, with an aim to bring them at par with the rest of the country in terms of provision of basic facilities.

According to a handout issued by PM Office's media wing, the additional chief secretary (Development) presented a detailed briefing on the development projects, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, tubewell solarisation, special economic zones, water management projects, and oil and gas exploration projects.

The meeting was attended amongst others by the governor and chief minister of Balochistan and SAFRON Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch.

Later, chairing a meeting on the province's law and order situation, Abbasi said the sacrifices of the security forces in the war on terror will not go in vain.

Nawab Sanaullah Zehri apprised the Prime Minister that law and order situation in Balochistan has considerably improved as the back of the terrorists has been broken.

Secretary Home Balochistan presented detailed briefing on law and order. Security measures for Shia pilgrims were also discussed in detail.

"This is how democracy works", he said, adding, "Government runs as per the Constitution and the law should always be above everything else".

Earlier, the Prime Minister arrived in Quetta on Tuesday morning on a one-day visit to the provincial capital.
