Jeffrey Tambor Didn't Leave 'Transparent' After All

Jeffrey Tambor's future on the Amazon comedy series "Transparent" remains in question following sexual harassment allegations made against him. By the end of the month, Tambor had released a statement loosely apologizing for his actions, and that statement also included what many took to be a resignation from the series: "Given the politicized atmosphere that seems to have afflicted our set", he said, "I don't see how I can return to Transparent".

But now his rep tells the New York Times, Jeffrey has no current plans to quit Transparent.

Creator and EP Jill Soloway said she would not discuss the recent accusations against Tambor while speaking on a panel at Vulture Fest L.A.

Writers are now at work on a fifth season of "Transparent", though it continues to remain unclear if Tambor would continue to star in it. After being accused of sexual harassment by co-star Trace Lysette and a former personal assistant, Van Barnes, the actor announced that he was standing down from the popular show.

Tambor has starred as transgender matriarch Pfefferman since 2014.

Lysette claims that when she emerged from wardrobe in a costume of a lingerie top and shorts for a scene with Tambor, he said: "My God, Trace. I am appalled and distressed by this baseless allegation".

In an interview with The Times, Ms. Lysette said she hoped the show would evolve to focus on transgender experiences beyond those of Mr. Tambor's character.

One week later came trans actress Lysette's allegation-that the actor made lascivious remarks to her and tried to touch her inappropriately on set. I saw him break her down. She was just like, 'Girl, he is a piece of work. I want to attack you sexually'.
