Lions QB Stafford "not out of the woods yet" with hand injury

Matthew Stafford's status uncertain due to hand injury

Arizona Cardinals running back Adrian Peterson was forced to miss Sunday's game against the Rams due to a neck injury, and the injury will keep him out of practice again Wednesday, according to head coach Bruce Arians.

"We'll see what he can do as the week goes on" is the last thing anyone trying to predict the game wants to hear - but for Lions fans, it's much better than Stafford being ruled out. "That's not the case", said Caldwell.

Stafford had X-rays in Baltimore that revealed his hand was not broken, just badly bruised. "It's not like it's some insignificant injury".

Overall this season, he has thrown for 3,302 yards, 22 touchdowns and seven picks while completing 63.9 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 98.2.

He had a terrible rookie year, throwing for 2,267 yards, 13 touchdowns and 20 interceptions in 10 starts, and a shoulder injury limited him to just three games during his second season. He is on pace to finish with his seventh straight season with more than 4,000 passing yards.

The Lions will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Sunday.
