Black Mirror Season 4 review The new season doesn’t hold up to its predecessors

Black Mirror Season 4 will premiere on December 29th and the new previews make it even darker than we thought, so get ready for some more heaviness after the 3rd Season's dark feel. Netflix has started to give viewers a slow dose of the upcoming season with teasers for all the six episodes, and a full trailer.

Prior to the big reveal, the streaming giant posted the trailer for "USS Callister", an episode that is an obvious homage to "Star Trek". "It can be thought-compelling in different genres and moods, more surprising even though the DNA is the same".

Black Museum stars Douglas Hodge, Letitia Wright, Babs Olusanmokun, and Aldis Hodge. Black Museum is directed by Colm McCarthy.

Shot in black and white, Metalhead looks to be going for pure thrills and scares by following the story of a character who finds a killer robot "dog", seemingly drawing inspiration from Terminator and The Hound of the Baskervilles, and playing on paranoia some people have about drones. It stars Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Gower and Kiran Sonia Sawar, and is directed by John Hillcoat. It is a thriller that follows a woman who fears something from her past will come to light and ruin her life, due to a new device that can access a person's memories. Starring Georgina Campbell, Joe Cole, and George Blagden, and helmed by Tim Van Patten. USS Callister is a feature length episode, during which much of the story is set in space, directed by Toby Haynes and starring Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, and Michaela Coel. It stars Maxine Peake, Jake Davies, and Clint Dyer.

In other words, at the tail end of a year that has had strong dystopian leanings, "Black Mirror" will be here for us with a new collection of nightmares. Although not a direct offspring of season 3's "San Junipero", Brooker shared that he was inspired by the 1980s-set episode to explore new territories.
