Ziegler is (obviously) now accompanying Sia on tour.

Since beginning work with Sia, Ziegler has starred in videos for Sia's songs "Chandelier" (which has over 1.7 billion views), "Elastic Heart", "Big Girls Cry", "Cheap Thrills", "The Greatest" and more.

Ziegler was discovered by Sia while on reality television show Dance Moms, which Ziegler appeared on from 2011 to 2016.

Popstar Sia has taken to social media to address the raised issue of using teen dancer Maddie Ziegler as a front for her music videos. Both performers wear only nude underwear in the video, which led to accusations that Sia had inadvertently sexualised the young performer.

Responding to the feature, Sia said she shares the same concerns as the journalist.

Malkin called into question the staging of Sia's latest tour after watching her perform in Sydney.

'Up on the stage in Sydney on Saturday, with Furler concealed and Maddie in the spotlight, it seemed that the superstar was deploying a child in a way that she herself refuses to be.

The column asked whether the spotlight-shy artist was exposing a child to the same fame she sought to avoid, writing that "the grown-up who has seen what fame can do and fears it has, perhaps unwittingly, handed it over to the child instead".

Today Sia responded to the article with a series of tweets.

The Australian artist acknowledged it's a question she has "often" asked herself since Ziegler, now 15, achieved worldwide stardom thanks to her roles in Sia's music videos.

The secretive singer's mini me, Maddie Ziegler was less private, revealing how much she loved Auckland on her Instagram account, which has over 10 million followers. It's a conversation we should all be having. Not just myself but all directors, stage parents and agents with their children, clients, charges. "I feel very protective of her and my goal is to empower her in whatever choices she makes", Sia continued.
