Hosts Al Jazira edged past Asian champions Urawa Red Diamonds 1-0 in Abu Dhabi on Saturday to set up a Club World Cup semi-final clash with favourites Real Madrid.

This season has not been going as well as the previous campaign for title-holders Al-Jazira, who are fourth in the UAE Pro-League and six points behind leaders Al Wasl with just four wins from 10 games.

Victor Guzman scored the only goal of the match for the Caribbean and North and Central American champions in the 112th minute. Unusually for a Pro-League club the squad is made up mostly of national players but they do possess some Brazilian flair in the shape of Romarinho and also have a familiar face for Madrid on the books, former Real midfielder Lassana Diarra. He received a great pass from Romarinho and put the ball between Nishikawa's legs.

Al Jazira will play against Real Madrid on December 13 at Zayed Sports City Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

Real are looking to become the first side in the tournament's history to retain the Club World Cup, having won it 12 months ago in Japan.
