Fox News' chief DC reporter left after harassment claims

Rosen, who is married with children, made "overt physical and sexual overtures", to three Fox News colleagues, according to the NPR report, which was based on interviews with eight of his former colleagues. In a shared cab ride back from a meal, Rosen groped her, grabbing her breast.

Last spring, Rosen also allegedly tried to kiss a younger female reporter in the elevator, and once she declined, he allegedly tried to "forcibly to kiss her again". He then allegedly offered her help in getting more air time on Bret Baier's nightly newscast in exchange for keeping silent. The cable news network has wrestled with the fallout from several high-profile misconduct allegations in recent years, along with the revelations that Fox News was aware of misconduct and had contributed to payouts for some of the women.

"There was a problem with our chief executive, sort of, over the years, isolated incidents", Murdoch told Sky News, referencing allegations that were made against the late Fox News' CEO Roger Ailes.

Political commentator Scottie Nell Hughes filed a lawsuit against Fox News alleging she was raped by anchor Charles Payne and blacklisted by the network after reporting the allegation.

Former host Eric Bolling was suspended in August, and in September parted ways with Fox News amid allegations that he sent sexually explicit pictures to coworkers. He edited, "A Torch Kept Lit: Great Lives of the Twentieth Century", by William F. Buckley Jr.

"James Rosen is exiting the company at the end of the year", a Fox News spokesperson confirms, without providing further detail.

Rosen has covered the White House and State Department for Fox News, and The Washington Post reported that the Justice Department had ordered an investigation of him after his reports on classified information related to North Korea. Attempts to contact Rosen on Wednesday, after the NPR report was published, were unsuccessful, and Rosen declined to comment to NPR. Achenbach said in a statement that he was sorry for unprofessional conduct.

Mr. Achenbach is the first Washington Post journalist to be punished for workplace misconduct since the #MeToo movement began in October, and his 90-day suspension is one of the harshest penalties the organization has imposed "for violations of its workplace or journalistic standards", The Post reported.
