Disc jockey on Monday faced 500 questions for almost five hours during a marathon court hearing in the high-profile stalking case in which Haryana BJP president 's son Vikas is the main accused. Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar, who remains in judicial custody and is yet to move the HC for bail, were arrested on August 9 a year ago.

He said that the defence told the court that the accused would not influence anybody in the case.

Varnika Kundu, a 29-year-old woman and the daughter of a senior Haryana cadre IAS officer, has accused Vikas and one of his friends of stalking and trying to kidnap her in August last year.

He alleged that at the time of registeration of the FIR, the woman's father and her counsel were present at the police station and there were chances that the entire story was manipulated.

The court had deferred its bail plea hearing to January 11 in December. The incident had come to light when the 29-year-old woman called the police and complained that two men followed her in an SUV when she was driving in her vehicle from the Sector-8 market in Chandigarh towards her home in Panchkula.

His lawyer had moved the high court for regular bail in November after a local court denied him bail for the fourth time.

Vikas Barala, who has been lodged in Burail jail here, is pursuing a law degree from the Kurukshetra University.

Vikas Barala is the son of the BJP's Haryana chief, Subhash Barala. However, two sections (IPC Sections 365 and 511), which related to kidnapping, were mysteriously dropped on Saturday, following which Vikas and Ashish were released on bail.
