Daily Beast reveals Snap user data for Stories, Maps, and Discover features

In August, Snapchat users were 64% more likely to send a snap to a friend than post to Stories, the Daily Beast reported.

In general, during the period measured in The Daily Beast's data, Snapchat's DAU numbers spiked during weekends, when consumers had more time on their hands and could share their exciting plans with friends and followers.

The Publisher Story on Snapchat will record the day-by-day highlights of the month-long tournament through recaps, previews and features produced specifically for Snap.

The new design is meant to make the app easier to use which should attract new users, although the company expects short term disruption as existing users react to the new app.

In mid-September, about 125 million people were creating snaps daily on the app, up from 120 million in late April. In the first quarter of 2017, Snapchat suffered a loss of $2.2 billion in revenue, and just this past September watched millions users abandon its platform.

By most users, the section of the app reserved for publisher content is ignored, which is known as Discovered.

Snapchat's Support team, meanwhile, has been busy responding to complaints from users on Twitter.

Twenty First Century Fox Inc's Fox Sports is partnering with Twitter Inc to stream a live show and Snap Inc's Snapchat to showcase stories with matchday highlights on the FIFA World Cup soccer tournament to be hosted in Russian Federation later this year.
