Huawei WiFi Q2 package spreads a signal over your whole house

The China- based company, which is known for making smartphones and laptops introduced Huawei's Wi-Fi Q2, which aims at providing a stable signal strength through a large home or an estate.

Obstructions and slower connection speeds because of access point distance are some of the common problems associated with Wi-Fi routers at home.

The Q2 devices plug into an ordinary wall socket and link up with each other via the electrical wiring at gigabit speeds as well as Wi-Fi, offering a combined speed of up to 1.867 Mbps. That's certainly pretty quick, leaving the user's home Internet connection as the only limitation, which still mostly hover around the 10-20Mbps range. This model can create a Wi-Fi blanket for up to five rooms.

Huawei introduced a hybrid Wi-Fi system yesterday at the CES 2018. But the tradition solutions often depend on the shape and size of the home and come with a complex installation and configuration processes.

The Huawei WiFi Q2 is going to be all about the "whole home".

Huawei claims that the WiFi Q2 can easily support up to 192 connected devices simultaneously with the complete system - comprises a base station and 16 satellites. Plus, there is an anti-brute force algorithm that helps to prevent any outside or unwanted access to the network. However, considering its compelling features, the system is expected to soon hit the global markets to give no space to competitors for similar developments.

CNet reports that the Huawei WiFi Q2 with three bases is priced at $349.99 (approximately Rs. 22,300), while a set of its one base and two satellites will go on sale at $219.99 (roughly Rs. 14,000).
