A total of 26 players from England, 58 from Australia, 30 from New Zealand and 57 from South Africa have registered for the auction. Afghanistan will have 13 players, Bangladesh eight, Zimbabwe seven, US two and Scotland one.

The in-form Glenn Maxwell, Shane Watson, who was mulling calling time on his IPL career previous year, too have entered the race with Mitchell Johnson, who has retired from global cricket but continues to play Big Bash League.

Chris Gayle, Ben Stokes, Chris Lynn, Eoin Morgan, Pat Cummins, Dwayne Bravo, Carlos Brathwaite, Evin Lewis and Jason Holder are some of the other key overseas players who have also entered the auction.

A fierce bidding war for Indian stars, including Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh and Gautam Gambhir, will headline the upcoming IPL auction which will see more than 1000 players go under the hammer.

Lasith Malinga will lead Sri Lanka's entourage that includes Angelo Mathews, the exciting Niroshan Dickwella, and Thisara Perera.

In 2018 IPL auctions, there will be a total of 281 capped players, 838 uncapped players including 778 Indian players.

Hashim Amla, who hit two centuries for Kings XI Punjab last season will be eyeing a lucrative deal along with compatriots Faf du Plessis, Quinton de Kock, David Miller and speedsters Morne Morkel and Kagiso Rabada.

The long list submitted to the eight franchises contains 1122 players and is set to be pruned further once the teams submit their wishlists to the IPL.

Kane Williamson, Colin Munro and Tom Latham from New Zealand will add their charm to the league.
