Kelly Clarkson made a follow-up clip to her "Meeting Meryl Streep" video, and this time she recorded a very candid and slightly wine-drunk reaction to her encounter with Streep on the Golden Globes red carpet.

"It wasn't on goal!"

Fortunately, Streep had a plan when she found her seat to be taken - sitting on Carey's lap.

Carey tweets she went to the bathroom during a commercial break Sunday and took the first seat available when she came back. Streep said to her that Carey could "take her seat" anytime.

Clarkson was finishing up an interview with Ryan Seacrest when she spotted Meryl Streep.

"Of course it's important for me to support the movement, there's no way I couldn't", she said. Streep and Poo also joined with many other attendees at the ceremony in wearing black as an expression of solidarity with victims of sexual assault and harassment.

Kelly said of Oprah: "I love Oprah".

Streep then embraced Clarkson with a warm smile and a quick hug, later cradling the singer-songwriter's head in her hand before engaging her and fellow actress Michelle Williams in conversation.

Kelly - who has her two children with her husband Brandon Blackstock - presented the award for Best Original Song alongside country singer Keith Urban and surprised the star-studded audience by singing the results.

The 68-year-old added that it wasn't that big of a deal, as seat swapping happens all the time at the Globes.

Poehler, a Golden Globes presenter, walked the red carpet with Saru Jayaraman, a workplace justice advocate for restaurant workers.
