Liverpool are looking for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho and according to Tuttosport (via ilbianconero) the Reds have already made contact to sign a potential heir to the Brazilian ace.

Once a player declared a failure at former club Chelsea, Liverpool's star Mohamed Salah has now been linked with a transfer to Real Madrid. He has scored 22 goals, 17 goals in the Premier League and five goals in the UEFA Champions League.

Salah moved to Liverpool last season from Roma for 42 million euros.

He found the target against Everton, Bournemouth and Arsenal, before netting twice against Leicester City, with his effort in the Merseyside derby being voted Liverpool Goal of the month. Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane confirmed that there won't be any moves in the January window, so it is safe to assume a summer move is possible.

However, with game time limited despite Real Madrid's wavering league form, Ceballos may attempt to push through a move (whether permanent or temporary) to earn more minutes in a World Cup year. "I don't talk much about other players, but he is a player I rate a lot", via FourFourTwo.

Either way, Salah has admitted to reading the reports.

Salah told Soccer Laduma: "Well, I have heard so many rumours it does not bother me any more".

He also posted on social media reaffirming this stance.

"I want to be one of the greatest players ever to come out of Egypt".
