While a specific date has yet to be revealed, Mario Tennis Aces will be available for the Nintendo Switch sometime this Spring.

Update 2.30pm: Added the video embed of the Direct and changed game descriptions that we'd previously left ambiguous. I personally know at least two people who have been waiting to get a Switch specifically until the announcement of this game.

The World Ends with You became a cult classic following its release on the Nintendo DS over ten years ago and now it is coming to the Nintendo Switch. We're also quite thrilled to see Nintendo return to Mario Tennis so quickly after 2015's Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash was met with an overwhelmingly negative reaction. It's due out in late May, and this upgraded edition will also hit PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC at the same time.

Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze, originally released for Wii U, will include a "beginner-friendy" mode to balance out its infamously hard gameplay. Importantly, the system launched with a strong lineup of titles.

Third party content ended up supplying a huge portion of the Direct overall, actually. Co-op friends can also combine their abilities to produce new effects. Celeste provided the Nindie presence with a pixelated platformer reminiscent of titles of yore.

Dark Souls Remastered is heading to the Nintendo Switch on May 25th, 2018. Today's much anticipated Nintendo Direct Mini offered up a slew of games, many of those games being ports. Kirby Star Allies will be released on March 16.

Explore incredible places far from the Mushroom Kingdom as you join Mario and his new ally Cappy on a massive, globe-trotting 3D adventure. Not to mention the astounding support it's been receiving from indie developers with the release of games like Steamworld Dig 2, Enter the Gungeon, and Yooka-Laylee.

Looking back, there were a number of conspicuous absences throughout the presentation. Even some upcoming 3DS games, like Radiant Historia or The Alliance Alive, got no coverage.

Mario+Rabbids is one of those weird crossovers that shouldn't work but somehow does.

The biggest gap between a Nintendo Direct Mini and a regular Nintendo Direct is 20 days. The fact that 2018 started with a comparatively more modest lineup may be an ill portent.

Nintendo has announced today, January 12, that a series of big games is ready to be launched this year for the Nintendo Switch console.
