Leeds United fans comment of Borthwick-Jackson loan recall – “won't be losing sleep”

"Leeds United can confirm Cameron Borthwick-Jackson's loan spell has been ended early and the left-back has returned to Manchester United", a statement on the club's official website revealed.

As ever, Leeds United fans were quick to air their views on Twitter about the 20-year-old defender's time and impact at Elland Road.

Borthwick-Jackson made his Manchester United debut against West Bromwich Albion in November 2015 and has played 14 games for the club. Instead, Borthwick-Jackson was behind Gaetano Berardi, a right back, Vurnon Anita, a midfielder, and even Stuart Dallas, a right-footed left winger, on the depth chart at Leeds.

Aside from that, the bulk of his time on the pitch came during United's cup games, featuring four times in the Carabao Cup and last turning out in the shock 2-1 defeat against Newport almost two weeks ago.

His chances were limited further by United paying £1.5m to Club Brugge for former Belgium Under-21 worldwide Laurens De Bock last week.

United's decision is the second time in two season that Borthwick-Jackson has been sent back to Old Trafford ahead of schedule by a Championship club.
