Days after country was witness to a virtual turmoil in Indian judiciary following revolt by four sitting judges, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said it is better that he and his government have remained "away" from the debate.

In a statement today, Oli's press coordinator Chetan Adhikari said, Indian PM Modi made telephone call to UML Chair Oli to exchange new year wishes and congratulate him in advance as next Prime Minister of Nepal.

Prime Minister on Friday defended his trademark with world leaders, saying he was unaware of laid down protocols as he is a common man and this has become his strength, as his openness was liked by the world leaders.

"I do not know all the protocols as I am a common man. The political parties must also keep out of it".

Replying to a question on rural distress, Modi said that it was the duty of the central government and state governments to work together and find solutions to the problems of farmers. "But the culture of the Congress that emerged after Independence has started appealing to other political parties", the prime minister said.

"When I talk of Congress-free India, it's not limited to the Congress as an organization or its particular unit".

At Davos, I look forward to sharing my vision for Indias future engagement with the global community.

He also denied that the prime focus of India's foreign policy was to isolate Pakistan internationally. "If you think we are doing so much hard work around the world to isolate one nation, then that is wrong.

India's foreign policy is based in the context of India, India's foreign policy is based in the context of its relations with the world", he said. Whoever takes a step against terrorism, I will welcome them and praise them, because my country has been suffering from terrorism for forty years.
