France says 'will always be there for Armenia'

"We are convinced that there is no alternative to peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict".

During his meeting today with French Senate President Gérard Larcher, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan noted that momentous changes have taken place in both countries - the election of a young and energetic president in France, and Armenia's upcoming move from a semi-presidential system to a fully parliamentarian government.

"I know advocating for peace is quite hard and I wish those meetings to bring concrete results".

Macron stressed the importance of the meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan in Geneva, as well as the recent meeting at the level of foreign ministers in Krakow. "The relations with Iran are of positive nature which once again highlights the fact that Armenia respects its neighbors and their culture", President Sargsyan said. Armenia has not yet implemented four UN Security Council resolutions on withdrawal of its armed forces from the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding districts.
