Alex Noren has won nine times on the European Tour but the third round leader at the Farmers Insurance Open remains a mystery man in the United States to all but the most dedicated fans. With darkness approaching, play was halted for the day with the duo set to come back today to finish the play-off. I hadn't played out of rye grass since previous year, but I hit some really good ones out of there.

The sixth hole of the playoff - between world no. 14 Day and world no. 19 Noren - will resume at 8 the 18th hole on the south course at Torrey Pines.

Day twice missed the green with a short iron in his hand, and one of those shots led to bogey.

On Sunday, Day and Noren birdied the par-5 18th all three times they played it - on the first second and fifth playoff holes - and made par on the par-3 16th and par-4 17th holes.

Woods finished the event tied in 23rd place.

Noren, who entered the day in sole possession of the lead, had the best chance of winning the tournament in regulation. Palmer hit wedge to 2 feet for birdie for a 72 to get into the playoff.

Tiger Woods made an even-par 72 to finish at three-under in his US PGA Tour comeback, and the 14-time major victor tied for 23rd. "I'll try to get some rest and play all day tomorrow if I need to get a win".

There has been huge excitement as Tiger Woods made his return to Torrey Pines over the weekend - but it got a little too much for one spectator on Sunday.

"I haven't built out my schedule", Woods admitted. They left after Woods finished his round.

"I wanted to shoot something around 65 and get to 10 under, I thought that would be a play-off number". Afterward, Woods told reporters he was "very pleased".
