Maggie Haberman and Amy Chozick's reporting for the New York Times about how Clinton handled sexual harassment allegations against Burns Strider, her faith adviser, during her 2008 presidential campaign makes it impossible for me to maintain that trust.

Clinton responded to the report in a series of tweets Friday, saying she was "dismayed" when the alleged incident was first reported to her in 2008 but "heartened" that the woman came forward.

The former secretary of state added that she called the woman who accused Strider last Friday and told her "what all women should: we deserve to be heard".

CNN's Poppy Harlow asked Wilson whether or not she felt Clinton, a fellow Democrat, should have fired her then-senior faith adviser Burns Strider after another campaign staffer accused him of sexual harassment.

"I was disappointed by that tweet, that response", Solis Doyle said. "Firing a high profile person on the campaign would have certainly made news and caused a distraction, so it wasn't an easy call", she said. But I won't lie, I expected standing up for a woman on her staff to be one of her strengths. I think that's actually true. Unfortunately, we failed her. "That was all you needed, 2008, 1978, that's all she should have needed".

Clinton's hypocritical comments come just months after she publicly denounced longtime friend and Democratic mega-donor Harvey Weinstein in the wake of multiple sexual harassment scandals. Other women bore the cost when Clinton tried to focus on redeeming a man who worked for her rather than protecting the woman who did. "When matters arose, they were reviewed in accordance with these policies, and appropriate action was taken", the statement said.

Hillary Clinton sits on stage during a book-tour event in Vancouver, B.C., on December 13, 2017. But of course, the #MeToo movement cares so little about this that Hillary was invited to appear on Sunday night's Grammys, where #MeToo was an issue and many dressed in black. The most serious accusation was brought by Juanita Broaddrick, who alleges that in 1978, Clinton raped her when he was Arkansas attorney general.

He has been accused by Paula Jones of exposing himself to her in a Little Rock hotel room in 1991, which resulted in an out-of-court lawsuit settlement.

Keilar read the tweets and said, "She doesn't admit she messed up..." The reports all say that Clinton overruled them and kept Strider on the job and on the payroll.
