Kevin Feige On X-Men In Marvel

The reason you'd expect Feige to be an intimate player in the deal is because it could finally do what comic-book fans have long hoped for by allowing major Marvel properties like X-Men and Fantastic Four, which til now have has their rights held by Fox, to be integrated into Feige's ultra-successful Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Addressing the topic of "superhero fatigue" and the future of the films that make up the MCU, Feige explained in a chat with Vulture: "For years, predating the history of Marvel Studios itself, people asked me about superhero fatigue and if it was a fad or a phase". "We're focusing on everything we've already announced", Feige said. He told Vulture parts of the deal still need to be figured out, and that could include how Marvel superheroes owned by Fox exist in Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe. Apparently Marvel's fearless leader isn't jumping the gun on any plans to bring Fox Marvel characters in the MCU just yet. If and when the deal actually happens, we'll start to think more about it. We're not thinking about it. After all, we're talking about the guy who had the writers of Captain America: Civil War come up with two different versions of the story: one version that included the incorporation of Spider-Man if a deal with Sony Pictures could be struck to share the character, and another that would have left the webslinger out of the equation. "Until then, we have a lot to do". But whether or not that's true, Feige says a potential crossover or blending of the brands hasn't been discussed yet.

If Feige is playing coy, he's doing a damn good job.

"It would be years away".

"I think about it through 2019, through the movies we've already shot or are about to start filming".

That means we wouldn't see any big introductions of mutants, Marvel's first family or the Merc with a Mouth until after The Avengers 4. There's sure to be plenty of rumors that will be making their way online in the coming year but fans should remember that they're likely nothing more than that for the time being. What do you think about Kevin Feige's comments?

However, that doesn't mean The Avengers 4 wouldn't have some kinds of credits scene teasing the introduction of those characters in the years after. It just wouldn't be anything that completely shakes up the primary plot of the movie.
