A new report out from PWInsider says that Vince McMahon has stepped aside when it comes to handling 205 Live and is no longer putting the show together.

Even though Enzo Amore did get more eyes on the show before he was sacked, there were some who argued that 205 Live should have more of a CWC feel as doing a character based show similar to Raw or SmackDown wasn't showcasing the 205 Live stars in the right light.

Vince McMahon had been personally working with the 205 Live stars to bring out their personalities and thought that a character-driven show was the best way to get the 205 Live brand over. This decision was made two weeks ago, starting with the episode where the Cruiserweight title tournament was announced. Vince's reasoning is why Enzo Amore was moved over to the brand and was also why there was a crossover with main roster stars on Raw.

The head writer for 205 Live is Jonathan Baeckstrom, who has been working in WWE creative since 2013, and the past two weeks of the show has seen Triple H in total control, with many in WWE comparing 205 Live to the way the NXT product is booked.

We are also told that 205 Live house shows are not off the table after the two test shows in Lowell, MA and Poughkeepsie, NY last month, but there are no current plans for additional live events at this time.

So, if you enjoyed the likes of Hideo Itami vs. Roderick Strong last night, expect more of that in-ring style going forward as Strong was specifically brought up as a way to help freshen up the 205 Live roster and product - and there may be other additions in the weeks to come.
