North Korea's over-the-top cheerleaders cause a stir in Pyeongchang

These statements are in keeping with previous statements made by Moon starting at his swearing in ceremony, where he said he'd travel to Pyongyang "under the right conditions", adding that "for peace on the Korean Peninsula, I will do everything that I can do".

Not at all have been cheered by the talks.

An inter-Korean summit would be the third of its kind, after Kim's father and predecessor Kim Jong Il met the South's Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun in 2000 and 2007 respectively, both of them in Pyongyang.

While Tokyo has not condemned recent talks between the two Koreas insofar as they concern participation in the Pyeongchang Games, it has also warned against North Korea's "smile diplomacy".

Kate Yoo, 21, who like Yoon spoke to CNN during Saturday's hockey match between Switzerland and the unified Korean team, said she doesn't think it's "the best thing to have her here, although maybe part of having one of the Kim dynasty over is like a safeguard, then they won't attack".

Any meeting would be a landmark moment not only for the two nations, but for Moon Jae-in, who rose to power previous year on a policy of engaging more with the North in an attempt to bring peace to the Korean Peninsula.

Pence did say, however, that Moon shared with him details of his meeting with North Korean leaders, without elaborating.

Neither approach inspired a goal from the home team, which went down 0-8, but it was clear who connected with the mainly young South Korean fans, who have grown up physically separated from the poor, one-party state to the North.

She is in the South attending the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics as her brother's special envoy.

Moon's spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom said Saturday Kim's sister verbally delivered his offer in a lunch meeting with Moon at Seoul's presidential palace. CNN has an in-depth report on how North Korea is making sure the almost 500 members of its Olympic delegation will return home after the competitions are over.

Members of the delegations exchanged greetings during Friday's openg cerermony.

Critics say it's unclear whether revived dialogue between the Koreas could lead to immediate breakthrough on the nuclear stalemate when it seems unlikely that the North would be willing to give up its nukes under any deal.

If "diplomatic dance" were an event at the Winter Olympics, Kim Jong Un's younger sister would be favored to win gold. The North also past year conducted its sixth and most powerful nuclear test to date.

"We have to be unified (with North Korea)". The United States fought with South Korea and maintains tens of thousands of troops and an "ironclad" agreement to protect its ally. The country conducted several weapons tests a year ago, sparking a war of words between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Vice President Mike Pence is cheering on US speed skaters at the Winter Olympics, before departing South Korea for Washington on Saturday. It was built in the 1960s as a luxury facility for US troops stationed in the South.

Mr Moon and Mr Kim's sister will have another opportunity to talk when they attend the final performance of a visiting North Korean orchestra on Sunday evening in Seoul.

Like the ceremony, the game included dignitaries from North and South in close proximity.

The North has sent almost 500 people to the Pyeongchang Games, including officials, athletes, artists and also a 230-member state-trained cheering group after the Koreas agreed to a series of conciliatory gestures for the games.
