A single headed goal from Harry Kane was enough to edge Tottenham the win over rivals Arsenal in Saturday's North London Derby.

"Once they scored you could see we were wobbling and they could have scored more but in the last 10 minutes we should have come back to 1-1", Gunners boss Arsene Wenger said.

However, Wenger said that Arsenal could have also won the game by half-time and lamented his side's inefficiency on the counterattack. I think we had the capacity to push them and create many, many chances, but it was an awesome game and I'm very pleased.

"We got down on the counter-attack a few times in the first half and we looked like we could have really hurt them, but then we had our final ball where we rushed it and the chance was gone".

7 - Harry Kane has seven goals in seven Premier League north London derby games - only Emmanuel Adebayor has scored more (8).

"That's what happened and we should have been more clinical, we know that, but we played very well and kept them quiet until the last five minutes when they piled on the pressure". The reality of football that we have seen over and over again is if you punch above your weight financially, clubs will come in and try and take your best players.

Arsenal face Swedish minnows Ostersund in the Europa League round of 32 first leg on Thursday, with the return leg at the Emirates Stadium set to take place on Feb 22.

Arsenal's record of just 4 wins out of 14 games on the road is probably one of the worst I have ever known, and Wenger thinks this is simply down to our strikers not converting the chances they get.

Harry Kane heads home Tottenham Hotspur's victor in a London derby win over Arsenal. "Manchester United decided that once they were in the semi-final [last season], we are far from the semi-final".

"He added: "[Tottenham] started sharper than us I suppose.

"I'm so pleased because this is a key period when you have to fight the battles, you need to fight for the top four and the three points".

"The priority remains being in the Champions League (qualification places) through the Premier League", Wenger said. We can only look at ourselves.

"In the second half the first 25 to 30 minutes we played awesome football and we created a lot of chances. But the priority is still to be in the Premier League".
