Palestinians make second attempt this week to blow up Israeli court
In the northern West Bank, Israeli troops conducted a raid into Deir Istiya town, northwest of Salfit city, detaining two Palestinians. The army said the forces were now searching the area for the snatched weapon.
When the two soldiers, one male and one female, drove into the city on Monday afternoon, local residents began pelting their vehicle with rocks, lightly injuring them both.
PA security forces frequently hand over Israelis, including soldiers, who mistakenly enter Palestinian towns in the West Bank, to Israeli authorities. The army opened an investigation into the incident and the female soldier was brought to a nearby hospital for treatment, the IDF statement added.
The IDF confirmed that the vehicle was extracted from the city through coordination between the Civil Administration, a body that acts as liaison between military units and the Palestinians, according to the Times of Israel.
Markings on their vehicle indicated that they were noncombat soldiers from a support unit.
To the south of Bethlehem, forces raided Hebron city's neighborhood of Wadi al-Qadi, where they detained a Palestinian.
"The event is being investigated", the army said. In the past, this has happened because soldiers relied on navigation applications.
