USA congressional candidate tweets racist photo of Meghan Markle

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

It comes after the Cheddar Man - the name given to the oldest complete skeleton found in the United Kingdom - was revealed to have dark skin. Markle's face in the photo is replaced with that of Cheddar Man, a rendering of a man created from the DNA of a fossil found in the southwest England village of Cheddar. Patrick J Adams, who played Markle's on-screen husband in the popular legal drama, condemned Republican businessman Paul Nehlen after he reportedly posted an edited image of Prince Harry's bride-to-be, who is biracial. Speaking about leaving her acting career behind her, in her first joint TV interview with Prince Harry, Meghan said: "I don't see it as giving anything up, I just see it as a change..." Nehlen wrote in the caption.

In a Tweet Sunday linking to a report by British tabloid the Daily Mirror, Nehlen defended the posting. Nehlen quickly became viral, sparking outrage from both sides of the pond.

"Publishing an article disappearing whites or dispossessing whites of their homelands is wrong; made worse when claiming "science" to "prove" whites never existed", he tweeted before the suspension.

Trump-supporting Nehlen is running to replace United States speaker Paul Ryan in his Wisconsin congressional district. "Much love." Fans were quick to comment on the image, with one writing, "This is so cute", while another said: "Made me cry".

Meghan's Suits co-star Patrick J Adams blasted in response: "You're a sad and sick man with no sense of shame or class. It's not a laughing matter, so I chose to laugh about it", he wrote.

He previously challenged Ryan in 2016, and was trounced by the centrist Republican.

The ban came after he published a "Jewish media" list of reporters at news organizations with Stars of David superimposed on their pictures.

This is not the first time Nehlen's account was suspended by Twitter.
