Amanatullah Khan, who was under judicial custody in the Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash assault case, was today granted bail by the Delhi High Court with conditions.

The court while granting bail observed that Khan had served an incarceration of more than 20 days and that no further custodial interrogations were needed.

Khan and Prakash Jarwal were arrested in the case on February 21.

On February 23, a magisterial court had refused to grant bail to either legislator, saying that the matter can not be treated in a "casual and routine manner" considering they were both "history-sheeters". The court had already granted bail to other AAP MLA Prakash Jarwal in the case on March 9.

The High Court also noted the submissions of the Delhi Police, which gave a status report stating that Khan was named in 12 criminal cases, of which he has been discharged in three while 8 cases are pending investigation. The other legislator, Prakash Jarwal, had got bail on Friday. The magisterial court had denied bail to both the legislators saying that the assault can not be treated in a casual manner while calling them "history-sheeters".

In December, 2015, when Delhi Home Minister Satyendar Jain suspended two special secretaries, IAS and DANICS (Delhi Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service) officers went on mass leave against the move.
