Sheikh Hasina, who was supposed to return home Wednesday evening, is likely to reach Dhaka tomorrow morning, said a staff of the prime minister's press wing.

Hasina, also president of the ruling Awami League, left Dhaka for Singapore on a four-day official visit at the invitation of her Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong on Sunday.

Singapore is the fourth largest investor in Bangladesh with net cumulative investments of about $1.2b.

Two pacts to boost air connectivity and make it easier for Singapore companies to enter Bangladesh were signed yesterday.

Ms Hasina said: "Singapore continues to be a favourite destination for Bangladeshi workers".

"Our positions are based on a deeper understanding of, and respect for, each other's values, principles and approaches", said Ms Hasina, adding that Bangladesh hopes to forge deeper cooperation with Asean during Singapore's term at the regional group's helm.
