Mourinho Slams De Boer Over Rashford Comments

Rashford scored both goals in United's 2-1 win over rivals Liverpool on Saturday in what was a rare start for the 20-year-old.

This season, the England global has now scored six times in the league, but he has mostly been used as a substitute.

De Boer, though, suggested after the game that Rashford would be better off playing under a manager other than Mourinho.

He said: "It's a pity that the manager is Mourinho because normally, he's an English player, you want to give him time and he can then make mistakes, but Mourinho is not like that".

After all the discussion of whether Rashford is fading away under Mourinho at Man United, the Special One threw him a start against Liverpool and he kindly paid him back with a brilliant brace to win the staunch rivalry.

"Tomorrow is a very hard match, playing against a team that didn't lose against Liverpool home or away [in the group stage], that drew in Liverpool and I say Liverpool because they are an example of a very good team in a big stadium with a big tradition".

Asked about Rashford ahead of United's Champions League clash with Sevilla on Tuesday night, Mourinho said: 'I read something, some quote from the worst manager in the history of the Premier League - Frank De Boer.

Ex Inter and Crystal Palace manager Frank De Boer has slammed Jose Mourinho for his treatment towards Marcus Rashford.

The perception of United as a pragmatic team set up to get results continues to grate with Mourinho as he faces Sevilla following a goalless draw in Spain three weeks ago. "Seven matches, seven defeats, zero goals".

"If he was coached by Frank he would be coached how to lose because he lost every game", he said.

"I try to give the best to the kid's education".

Jose Mourinho has been in such a good mood this week he's returned to the jovial banter merchant we all know and love.

'If you go to his numbers and how many games he played with me. "I would say he was in the top five with more matches for two seasons", Mourinho said. "And Marcus is having these experiences".

"I am really pleased with everything. I'm really happy with Marcus". Not many were expecting you to start against Liverpool and he had a good match not just about scoring goals. Of course not. He's a player we trust.
