Abilene teen killed after vehicle overturns catches fire

A teenage girl was killed in a crash on Interstate 70 Tuesday morning, authorities said. The Kansas Highway Patrol reports 18-year-old Mariah Lowe was heading east when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete culvert before overturning and catching fire. Her Nissan Sentra overturned and caught fire.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reports a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Mariah Lowe was eastbound on I-70.

The KHP crash report indicates the victim died at the scene.

The accident occurred on I-70 about nine miles east of Abilene around 8:15 a.m.

At least one person was trapped in the vehicle.
