Coach Abubakar Bala has taken over Kwara United

Former Niger Tornadoes of Minna Coach, Abubakar Bala, has been appointed as the new Technical Adviser of Kwara United FC of Ilorin.

"I sincerely desire the great support of the management, the fans and people of Kwara state to make the task of getting the team out of relegation a possibility".

The club's Media Officer, Abdulwaheed Bibire, in a statement in Ilorin said this followed the club's unimpressive performance so far in the 2017/2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

The new manager's first task is how to successfully prosecute the NPFL matchday 13 game on Sunday at the reigning champions, Plateau United in Jos.

"I am the technical adviser of Kwara United right now".

Having agreed to a one-year deal, the Nigeria U20 assistant coach has expressed delight at securing the job as he vows to help the team retain their top-flight status this season.

"However, first and foremost the management must immediately see to the improvement of the welfare of the players".

"Since I was contacted by the management, we have been discussing the way forward and also reached an understanding on how to get the team back on track", he continued.

NAN reports that Kwara United had dropped seven points from a possible 18 points at home this season.
