Madrid's third strike of the night - the second from Marco Asensio - pushed Los Blancos up to 6000, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema adding late goals as they stormed from behind to take a 5-3 win over Betis.

It was Cristiano Ronaldo, in the 65th minute, who made it 4-2 on a fabulous feed by Casemiro, thus notching his 10th tally in his last six outings, although Betis answered back in the 85th minute on a shot by Sergio Leon.

Asensio opened the scoring in the eight-goal thriller, however, inspired by Joaquin, Real Betis took a 2-1 lead into the break.

A party atmosphere had gripped the Benito Villamarin stadium but locally-born Real captain Ramos punctured the mood by levelling with a towering header from a corner five minutes into the second half.

"It was a bit of a insane game, but I like that", Zidane told reporters in his post-match press conference. "To see all the players looking so sharp is fantastic and I'm very pleased".

The Brazilian left-back has largely been well below his best this season but came back to top form in the first leg of the PSG tie, rounding off an excellent display with the final goal in the dying stages.

REAL MADRID have been dealt a huge blow in the build-up to their Champions League second leg showdown with Paris Saint-Germain.

Asensio, Dani Carvajal, Lucas Vasquez, Mateo Kovacic and Gareth Bale all came in and Real were ahead after 11 minutes when Jordi Amat failed to clear Marcelo's cross. With the quality that we have up front we will cause problems for any opponent.

"I won't think too much about the three goals we conceded, but instead about the five we scored".

Ronaldo scored the 4 goal for his side, which proved to be the victor on the night; he looked lively all night in an enthralling where Madrid desperately needed to win.

"The coach will have his reasons for playing me less but I just need to keep working and be consistent, now we can see the results".
