Dominic Solanke admits his lack of first-team action at Liverpool is "frustrating" but understands why Jurgen Klopp's in-form forwards are keeping out of the starting lineup.

The 20-year-old's opportunities to impress have been limited due to the outstanding form of Reds' front three of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.

Dominic Solanke rejected Celtic's advances to move to Liverpool last summer, but his opportunities have been limited at Anfield.

The striker is frustrated and admits it is hard to dislodge the "crazy" players in front of him.

"Being at Liverpool there's a lot of competition and there are going to be tough times but coming to England is always another time to express yourself".

"It's always frustrating when you're not playing, but I'm enjoying it at Liverpool".

"I'm learning from those around me". There are some insane players at Liverpool, especially in my position I have definitely learned a lot from that. I'm grateful for that.

"You always have to take the positives and we are doing so well at the moment".

"Mo is on fire, I'm so happy for him, and he is unstoppable and it's helping us a lot".

Solanke took his chance on global duty on Tuesday evening, scoring a late victor for England under-21s in their crucial match against Ukraine under-21s and perhaps reminding many of what he is capable of.

However, he came off the bench in the second half at Bramall Lane to score an 88th-minute victor, ensuring England maintained a five-point lead at the top of their group.

"The day before the first game it was very painful and I had to come out of training and a couple of days after I didn't even put a boot on".

"Knowing each other from being younger, we know each other personality wise and how to work for each other".
