The blazes have caused damage to fields, but no injuries.

The Eshkol Regional Council's statement said the army, with the support of firefighters, is on heightened alert along the border and is prepared to deal with any future incidents. The kite fell on the Gaza side of the border fence, however, causing no injuries. And asked residents to remain alert and report any unusual fires in the ares. For the past several weeks thousands of Palestinians have staged mass protests along the border fence with Israel, demanding hundreds of thousands of Palestinian refugees who fled or were expelled during the war surrounding Israel's creation in 1948 be allowed to return.
