PTI finalises three names for caretaker prime minister

The PTI finalized the names of candidates it would recommend for the post of caretaker prime minister, on Monday.

According to Express News, Imran Khan met with senior party leaders and after consensus made a decision to submit the names of Abdul Razak Dawood, former chief justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani and Dr Ishrat Husain.

Abdul Razzaq Dawood served as commerce minister during Musharraf regime.

Parliament leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi will hand over the list of finalised names to Opposition leader Khurshid Shah here on Tuesday. He continued as the minister from 1999 to 2002.

Moreover, Tassaduq Hussain Jillani is a retired Pakistani judge who served as the 21st Chief Justice of Pakistan from 12 December 2013 to 5 July 2014. Husain is a Pakistani banker and economist who served as the dean of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) and the governor State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) from 1999 to 2006.

For the position of caretaker Punjab chief minister, PTI will nominate Salman Shah, Shahid Hafeez Kardar and Tariq Khoso.

Chief of Jamaat-i-Islami Senator Sirajul Haq had earlier mooted a proposal, seeking prominent scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan as caretaker prime minister of Pakistan for the upcoming general elections of 2018.
