Hyderabad Police releases short films on traffic awareness

Two short films on traffic awareness signal jumping and importance of wearing helmets were released by the Hyderabad commissioner of police Anjani Kumar on Friday, at the Traffic Training Institute in Goshamahal.

As many as 26 parents were arrested by police for allowing their underage children to drive on the road in Hyderabad.

The strict action comes after a reported increase in incidents of minors getting involved in accidents.

From compulsory counselling sessions to registering of First Information Reports or FIRs, the traffic police in Hyderabad has evolved a full-fledged program on how to enlighten and counsel both the children and parents.

In this situation, the punishments for the crime were done with immediate effect in Hyderabad, and in February, 1079 cases were filed, and parents of 60 minors were jailed. Earlier this week, 04 engineering students, all girls who appeared to have consumed alcohol at a pub and then drove the four-wheeler on to a sidewalk, killing 48-year-old Ashok, a cobbler, who was sleeping on the pavement in Kushaiguda, along with his son Mahesh.

Joint Commission of Traffic Police, Hyderabad, Anil Kumar, said that the drive is being regularly conducted once or twice every week to crackdown against minor or underage drivers. In 2017, a total of 14608 cases were booked.
