It will run on the Snapdragon 845 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.

But without a doubt, the Taiwanese OEM is going to focus on its four cameras as a primary selling point, including 12MP wide-angle and 16MP telephoto lenses on the back, plus dual front-facing 8MP shooters equipped with Bokeh skills, AR stickers, HDR Boost and Face unlock technology.

"Based on the leaked spec sheet which was supposed to be embargoed until 23 May, the U12+ comes with a 6" Quad HD+ 18:9 display that comes with HDR10 support and Gorilla Glass protection. However, the legendary leakster has now leaked nearly everything we ever wondered about the U12 Plus. In the meanwhile, all other manufacturers adopted dual cameras, and now HTC is back with the setup on the U12+. The U12 Plus is also IP68 certified for dust and water resistance.

The device will come out of the box running Android 8.0 Oreo but will supposedly be upgraded to Android P, and the new version of HTC Sense will add some extra features to the squeeze functionality of the device. The phone will have always listening mode for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It also features AR stickers, Pro Mode with manual controls, and panorama support. The U12 Plus will also feature dual speakers for HTC BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition audio. There will be a microSD card slot (compatible up to 2TB cards) for storage expansion. There's also OIS and 240fps slow-mo in 1080p.

Connectivity wise, it supports a wide range of 4G LTE bands in both FDD and LTE as well as Bluetooth 5.0, 802.11ac 5GHz WiFi and NFC. Powering the smartphone will be a 3500 mAh battery which will charge via a USB C port.
