Fonseca turns down West Ham

West Ham are keen to bring in Benitez, as they look to replace David Moyes. The Brazil star is looking to a future outside of Ukraine, with Paris St Germain also interested in signing the 25-year-old according to the paper.

The two relegations in Ashley's time here as well as a continual battle to avoid it have shown he is either completely naive or is playing a risky game with our premier league existence by trying to survive on the least spend possible. "Now we need to work hard to continue winning both domestically and internationally".

West Ham are on the search for a new manager after deciding not to extend David Moyes' short-term contract which expired at the end of the season.

"Having taken stock of the situation and reflected now the campaign is complete", West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan said, "we feel that it is right to move in a different direction". Now everything will go wrong with Shakhtar. A win-win scenario for him by capping us with a smaller turnover providing smaller outlays but expecting the greatest income.

"And what do we see?"

Since then he has managed some of Europe and South America's most successful clubs, including River Plate (with whom he won the 2002/03 Primera Division), Real Madrid and Manchester City (Premier League and Carling Cup, twice).

"Do you remember how, two years ago, we appointed Paulo at Shakhtar and everyone shouted, 'What will happen, what's going to happen to Shakhtar now?"

He said: 'When I had the meeting with Mike Ashley (in May, 2017) I was confident that we have the money available and the wages.
