Bill Clinton's comment on sexual harassment is making heads explode

Clinton, who has been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct dating back decades, said he thought it was a "good thing that we should all have higher standards". "You don't have to physically assault somebody to make them, you know, uncomfortable at work or at home or in their other - just walking around". Al Franken, a Minnesota Democrat, should not have been forced from office earlier this year amid mounting sexual misconduct allegations.

To all of you uncritically tweeting a Borowitz column into my timeline today, Bill Clinton has a message for you. "This is gross!" conservative commentator Kayleigh McEnany tweeted.

Clinton's apparent defense of Franken drew a new round of criticism.

When MSNBC asked Clinton about his experience, the former president said he didn't feel differently amid the #MeToo movement.

I think that - I will be honest - the Franken case, for me, was a difficult case, a hard case. He came under fire last week for comments he made while speaking to NBC about the Monica Lewinsky scandal.

In that interview, Clinton claimed that he "did the right thing" by staying in office and didn't owe Lewinsky an apology - since he already apologized in public. There may be things I don't know.

Many pointed out how Clinton, 71, even went so far as to defend Franken during the PBS interview - saying, "Maybe I'm just an old-fashioned person, but it seemed to me that there were 29 women on "Saturday Night Live" that put out a statement for him, and that the first and most fantastic story was called, I believe, into question".

"I think it's a grievous thing to take away from the people a decision they have made, especially with his election coming up again", Clinton said. But it's done now.

And I think that all of us should just be focusing on how to do better and how to go forward.
