Fortnite Launching on the Nintendo Switch Today

Nintendo said the game can be played on-the-go or at home, per the Switch's main functionality as a portaable or a TV-based game console.

During the latest Nintendo Direct for E3 2018, the company officially announced that Fortnite will be heading to the Nintendo Switch from Epic Games, marking the latest edition of the massively popular shooter. One hundred people jump out of Fortnite's battle bus and parachute down to an island, search for assault rifles and gear, then battle it out until only one person is left standing, resulting in a victory royale. Don't worry, it's still free as only Save the World requires you to pay - that is if you don't purchase the completely optional seasonal Battle Pass.

Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime said the game would incorporate its battle royale mode and would be available at 1 p.m. EST today as a free download. Whether Fortnite will be exempt from those charges remains to be seen.

Interestingly, there was also no mention of cross-platform play between the Nintendo Switch and any of the other platforms it is available on.

It's finally happening: "Fortnite" is coming to the Nintendo Switch. And as you can see in the image, it looks pretty close to what the actual in-game battle bus looks like with its blue colour scheme and balloon.

But, now horrified parents have come forward to tell how their daughter became hooked to the game and would play up to 10 hours straight. That data includes the release date, which reads June 12, 2018-a.k.a. the date of Nintendo's E3 presentation tomorrow.

A brand new skin is now available in Fortnite-but it's exclusive for players with PlayStation Plus accounts. It's a complex, silly, and - most importantly - free game that's available on almost every platform: PC, Mac, iPhone/iPad, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. Considering $1 gets you 100 V-Bucks, this is an insanely good deal.
