Jackson Sooter says goodbye to his sister Addy

This heartbreaking final moment between a little boy and his dying sister was shared by their father just before she lost her fight with cancer.

Jackson was comforting his 4-year-old sister, Addy, on her deathbed.

Adalynn "Addy" Joy Sooter, 4, died on June 3 after battling diffuse intrinsic pontine gliomas (DIPG) since November 2016.

"A little boy should not have to say goodbye to his partner in crime, his play mate, his best friend, his little sister", Mr Sooter wrote. "But this is the broken world we live in".

The little girl from Rogers, Arkansas, US, spent the next year and a half undergoing 33 rounds of chemotherapy.

The distressed father added that his little girl's symptoms were "progressing rapidly" and she was struggling to eat properly.

'Most likely she doesn't have much time left'.

Jackson is seen with his hand on his little sister's forehead as she grasps his arm.

"Pray for Jackson", Mr Sooter wrote.

"He doesn't want to leave her side and we won't make him. Pray for us. That we have the right words and can make the necessary arrangements in time".

The photo has since been shared more than 700 times with many offering condolences for Addy's family. "She passed from this life to the next just as she had lived: stubbornly but also peacefully, and surrounded by family". The tumor was growing in her brain. Her family said in lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Michael Mosier Defeat DIPG Foundation, Arkansas Children's Hospital, or Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas.
