After the actor failed to meet the deadline, he was ordered Monday (June 11) to spend three days in the Los Angeles County Jail.

John Schneider has checked himself into jail to begin serving his sentence for not paying spousal support to his ex-wife, Elvira.

He reportedly did not, meaning 240 hours of community service was also added to his sentence in addition to the days in jail. At the time, the judge reportedly ordered John to transfer his Apple Valley property to Elvira and to resolve the property's tax liens. The judge also ruled Schneider had to resolve all tax lien issues against the property.

Earlier this year he was accused in court documents of missing monthly support payments of $18,911 from September 2016 through May 2017.

Fox News reports that Schneider was unable to pay spousal support because his income isn't sufficient to make the payments.

The actor and singer was booked in to a jail in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday morning. He claimed that he has hit hard financial times and spent most of his money repairing his movie studio in Louisiana after it was destroyed in a March 2016 flood.

Schneider at age 17 won the role of Bo Duke on The Dukes Of Hazzard and starred on the CBS show from 1979 to 1985 opposite Tom Wopat as his older cousin Luke Duke. She'd previously requested $31K a month.
