Bayern Munich confirm they will consider offers for Jerome Boateng

On Wednesday, Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had stirred up transfer speculation about the 2014 World Cup victor.

Boateng has Premier League experience having played for rivals Manchester City for the 2010-11 season and may well have a point.

United are only willing to pay £50m, but Spurs chief Daniel Levy is reportedly playing hardball, and wants £75m.

It was reported ahead of the summer transfer window previous year by the Daily Mail that Chelsea were considering making a move to sign Boateng.

"If a club comes to us and he says that he wants to join that club, then we will negotiate".

Boateng is one of eight centre-backs on United's radar, alongside Raphael Varane, Kalidou Koulibaly and Toby Alderweireld, with a quality defender a priority in order for them to mount a title challenge next season.

They said they were willing to listen to "important" offers for the Germany global.

Man Utd's spending power means that the Red Devils are very capable of sending an "important" offer to the German champions, and the back line problems at Old Trafford could well be solved by Boateng rather than Alderweireld.

"There is a World Cup coming up, we are here with the national team - that's the only topic for me".
