Comey deviated from Federal Bureau of Investigation norms in Clinton email probe

DOJ Watchdog's Clinton Report Expected to Reignite Battle Over FBI Probes

President Trump disembarks from Air Force One upon arrival at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland after his trip to Singapore this week.

"No. No he won't".

Page has since left the FBI and Strozk, who was assigned but then removed from Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation of Russia's interference in 2016 election, remains with the agency.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly asserted that the FBI botched the Clinton email investigation.

As Vox explains, the report has nothing to do with Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation, but Trump has been using the Comey-Clinton allegations-how he handled the investigation into her use of a private email server-to generally discredit the FBI and accuse it of an anti-Trump bias.

The report's findings are set to be made public later Thursday.

The message is included in a forthcoming Justice Department inspector general report on the FBI's handling of the Clinton email investigation.

Even so, critics argue that their proximity to investigations of such high magnitude warrant a probe into whether their work was tainted by political bias.

However, Trump's original justification for axing Comey - failing to follow Justice Department protocols - quickly fell by the wayside when Trump said he did it with the "Russia thing" on this mind.

In an interview with Buck Sexton of The Hill, Sessions said the report could lead to more law enforcement officials being fired.

Horowitz's report examined actions taken by top officials before the 2016 election, including the handling of the investigation into Clinton's use of a private email server when she was secretary of state. "Hope Report is not being changed and made weaker!" "Right?!" the lawyer, Lisa Page, wrote to Strzok.

Anticipation is mounting ahead of the release of the IG report on the Obama-era DOJ and Federal Bureau of Investigation as leaks are already surfacing.

That's a tweet Trump could easily have written on any day before his briefing on the Horowitz report, and has written in some form on many occasions before this.

Comey already has been criticized for waiting a month to act during the 2016 presidential election campaign after thousands of emails were discovered on Weiner's laptop that appeared to be relevant to the Clinton investigation.

Bloomberg News first reported the details of the inspector general report.

"That decision really fell to me, ultimately on the Comey matter", Sessions said, saying it was "the right move".

"What is taking so long with the Inspector General's Report on Crooked Hillary and Slippery James Comey".
