Tesla to Offer First ‘Full Self-Driving Features’ in August

Tesla’s ‘Autopilot’ is getting an upgrade

Previously, he promised to send the first generation Tesla Roadster in space, which he actually did.

While this doesn't guarantee the carmaker's version 9 software will make your Tesla a self-driving auto, it at the very least, suggests that the new software would include the first steps to fully-autonomous driving.

Musk has aspirations to place these boosters all around the auto, not just on the rear of the vehicle for thrust.

Elon Musk made a surprise unveiling back in November 2017 when he presented the new Roadster, a sports auto that he claims will be able to go from 0 to 60-mph in just 1.9 seconds, making it the "fastest production vehicle ever" made.

After months of teasers and tweets, Tesla finally unveiled its all-electric lorry in November a year ago and, at the same event, it upstaged it with something no one was expecting: an all-new Tesla Roadster.

"The software update is good news", said analyst Chaim Siegel from Elazar Advisors, adding the stock was still benefiting from last week's prediction by Musk that it would finally hit its production target for its Model 3 sedan.

He ended by saying "New Tesla Roadster will exceed all gas sports cars in every way". It's clearly the best looking vehicle Musk's company has ever made. "Maybe they will even allow a Tesla to fly..."

The Tesla founder made the disclosure in a Twitter conversation, responding to a user who complained about issues with Autopilot, which is now considered semi-autonomous with the requirement that a motorist be at the wheel at all times. The additions are promised to dramatically improve acceleration for the already insanely fast Roadster, which will be able to zip from standstill to 60 miles per hour in just 1.9 seconds sans "rocket" boost. The Tesla Roadster's range will top out at 620 miles or 1,000km too, though that's nearly certainly when you're not using much of its performance.
