Amazon's Try-Before-You-Buy Wardrobe Service Is Ready for Prime Time

Amazon Prime members in the US can now try fashionable summer trends like breezy wrap dresses, sexy one-piece swimsuits and comfortable wedges without having to battle it out in a crowded mall or busy dressing room. First announced previous year, the company's new Prime Wardrobe service allows Prime subscribers to try on clothes, shoes, and accessories before actually paying for them. Once it arrives at your home, you have seven days to try on every item and decide which pieces of apparel you'd like to keep and which you'd like to return. They will be charged for all of the items if they don't return the box within the time period. "With the addition of Prime, customers can now enjoy the most convenient way to shop and take advantage of new and expanding benefits from Amazon", he said.

Prime Wardrobe will rival established online shopping and subscription services such as Stitch Fix and Nordstrom's Trunk Club, though those services offer a personal stylist.

Prime subscribers should keep in mind, though, that not all of the clothes in Amazon's inventory will be eligible for this service. Not all clothing items are eligible for Prime Wardrobe, but items that are eligible will have a Prime Wardrobe logo. The service also comes at no additional cost to U.S. Prime members, including shipping and returns. Customers must make their selections via the Prime Wardrobe portal which features brands such as Lilly Pulitzer, Tommy Hilfiger, Adidas, Guess, Levi's, Calvin Klein, Nine West, Fossil, Lacoste, Hugo Boss, Disney, Puma, New Balance, Stuart Weitzman, Rebecca Taylor, J Brand, and A|X Armani Exchange. For men, it was tops, jeans and slacks and for kids, shoes proved most popular.
