Netflix is testing an Ultra subscription

The Basic is priced at $7.99, allowing the users to use Netflix at one screen at a time without any HD facilities.

Netflix is reportedly set to offer up a new subscription that would fall under "Ultra" branding, a new plan that is above the Base, Standard, and Premium susbcriptions.

Some changes may be headed to Netflix.

In the U.S., Netflix's current Premium plan ($13.99) includes 4K Ultra HD video and four simultaneous screens. A spokesperson for Netflix explained: "In this case, we are testing slightly different price points and features to better understand how consumers value Netflix".

After a price hike past year, Netflix's two-stream HD tier is now $10.99 per month and the Premium plan is $13.99 per month.

During a few months of 2017, Netflix posted its largest three-month growth spurt - 8.3 million new subscribers - despite raising the cost of its most popular plan (the Standard plan with two screens watching simultaneously) by $1 in October 2017. Currently, the highest package is worth $13.99 that is known by the name of Premium. The Ultra Plan, which The Verge figures will cost around $16.99, also lets you stream on four screens, but in HDR video and 4k resolution. People will no longer be able to write their feedback on a show, and in mid-August, people will no longer be able to read existing user reviews on Netflix either, CNET reported.

The company now has three subscription plans: $7.99 Basic, $10.99 Standard, and $13.99 Premium. However, if Netflix decides to implement this Ultra on a Global scale, there would be possibilities for other streaming platforms such as the Amazon Prime and other local media firms to woo the customers. The Standard priced at $10.99 offers its users the Netflix experience at 2 screens at a time with only normal HD facilities. Unfortunately, this means they are cutting back the Premium tier from four streams to just two streams.
