Croatia defender Dejan Lovren believes his exhausted team are ready to seize the opportunity of a lifetime when they face England in the World Cup semi-finals in Moscow today.

Defeat to Croatia in extra-time is heart-breaking for everyone with a connection to or interest in English football.

A drummer played Bradford City favourite "Take Me Home, Country Roads", and also "England" and the one everybody has been chanting everyday recently, "It's Coming Home".

For Croatia, it was a Cinderella story.

Whether or not they can outstrip their predecessors - Alan Shearer, Paul Gascoigne, Tony Adams et al - by reaching a major final remains to be seen but Southgate is sure they will give a good account of themselves regardless of the outcome.

England scored two goals against Sweden in the tense match, meaning they are now heading to the semi-finals of the tournament to play Croatia on Wednesday.

Is football coming home?

Wrote another, "Football has grown as a person".

During the final day of their visit, Harry and Meghan will meet the people of Dublin and visit organisations which are central to Irish life.

But English fans still stuck around the Moscow stadium long after the loss, serenading their team's manager, Gareth Southgate. As the Standard reports, Prince William will be joined by members of the royal family as he is set to watch the game at his official Kensington Palace residence.

England fans were left to wonder if perhaps they were somehow responsible. Thankfully we are looking forward with hope.

Croatia takes on France for the World Cup on Sunday in Moscow, while England and host country Russian Federation play Saturday for third place.

If you are yet to come across or still clueless what the hashtag "It's Coming Home" on your social media newsfeed means, then, we can start all over from Stone Age for you. Many "barriers" have been uprooted and several pieces of history are re-written, but Southgate does not want this team to stop. Maybe football will think about coming home in 2022.
