Jonathan Crenshaw, 46, was charged with aggravated battery after allegedly using his feet to stab a Chicago tourist with scissors.
A MAN previously thought to be harmless - as he was a disabled artist who sold his canvases in Miami's touristy South Beach, has been charged with stabbing a Chicago tourist.
According to the Miami Herald, the homeless man is a fixture in the South Beach area, known for painting with his feet.
The victim was treated for his injuries and Crenshaw was taken to jail and charged with aggravated battery, the report states.
Crenshaw was found later in the day in the 200 block of Lincoln Road, authorities said.
According to the Miami Herald, Crenshaw, who is homeless, told Miami Beach police that he had been lying down when Coronado attacked him first, punching him in the head.
Crenshaw said he was lying down when Coronado approached and punched him, police added. He and a female friend who was present said Coronado asked Crenshaw for directions and was attacked, police said.
Mr Crenshaw told police he acted in self defense.
