Anthony Bourdain and the program he hosted on CNN were honored Thursday with multiple Emmy nominations, a little more than one month after his death.

Bourdain hosted and executive produced the show, which scored a nomination for information series or special.

The CNN program has been nominated for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Short Form Nonfiction or Reality Series, Outstanding Informational Series or Special, Outstanding Sound Editing for a Nonfiction Program, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction Program, and Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program. "Parts Unknown" earned a total of six nods Thursday. The recognition comes after his death on June 8, when his body was discovered by friend and fellow chef Eric Ripert in a Le Chambard hotel room in Kaysersberg, France, where he was filming a new episode of the show. "His love of great adventure, new friends, fine food and drink and the remarkable stories of the world made him a unique storyteller".

This morning, the Television Academy announced its nominations for this year's Emmy Awards, which take place on September 17.
